Fact Sheet
The Hope Clinic for Women, Ltd. is licensed by the State of Illinois as an Ambulatory Surgical Treatment Center. We are privately owned, founded in 1974 and have performed over 100,000 abortions.
The Hope Clinic is located in a beautiful, new state-of-the-art, two-story surgical center in Granite City, IL, directly across the street from
Gateway Regional Medical Center -- 10 minutes from St. Louis' Poplar Street Bridge.
We were one of the first clinics in the country to offer medical abortion (the abortion pill). We also offer emergency (morning after) contraception to prevent pregnancy.
Our licensed, board-certified physicians specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. Our counselors are degreed from recognized universities. Our medical technicians are licensed by the state of Illinois in their respective fields.
Our patients come to us from a 10-state area. They each receive individual counseling.

The Hope Clinic performs about between 6 and 7,000 procedures a year.

-   87 women out of 100 have first trimester abortions (less than 14 weeks LMP).
-   13 women out of 100 have second trimester abortions (14 to 24 weeks LMP).
-   Over 50% of the women we see are 18 - 25 years old. (43% are 26 - 48, 8% are minors)

The State of Illinois does not require parental consent for abortion. 4% of our patients are minors from other states, many of whom come
to us with a parent.
The Hope Clinic provides in-service training to family planning and abortion professionals and a speaker's bureau to area schools, churches, and organizations.
We publish a number of patient education booklets and "Abortion and Options Counseling; A Comprehensive Reference", which is used to train counselors nationally and internationally.
